How do I know if my pc got a video card?

Could anyone tell me how should I know if my pc got video card or not?

Becuse I want to conect my pc to my tv.|||If you have a video card then the monitor lead that plugs into it will have the 'thumb screws' side by side (like *===*) if it's onboard graphics the thumb screws will be one above the other.

That said, if you are plugging into a TV then unless your TV has a VGA port your graphics will need a video out port.|||start-RUn- type (dxdiag) then click display in tabs|||You need a special type of video card to connect it to a TV and all pcs have some sort of video card.|||Without a video card you wouldn't see anything on your monitor. In fact, you wouldn't be able to connect a monitor. If you can see absolutely anything, your computer has a video card.

If you wish to connect your PC to your TV, however, you need a video card that has some form of TV output. Some modern TVs have an analogue port that looks like the 15 pin port on the back of your computer. This would need a cable with the relevant connections on both ends. Do be aware though that this only carries the pictures. You will not get sound through your TV speaker(s) using this method. You'd have to connect your soundcard, using an audio cable to a respective input port on your TV.

Other TVs might have a S-VHS port. You can purchase video cards that have the same type of port on them. Again you would need to purchase a cable with the respective plugs at both ends. You'll also need to connect an audio cable between your soundcard and your TVs audio input port.

If you're willing to spend even more money, you can get video cards that have HDMI or DVI sockets on them. This, of course, means that you'd need a really up-to-date TV that has similar sockets on it.

There are also 'adapters', which you can purchase separately, to change one type of socket to another.
