How do I turn off the TV out function on the Video card on my pc?

This is the error I get when I tried to play dvds on my pc that are copy protected.

"TheTV Out port of your display card is not working properly."

"This copy protected disc can not be played when the TV out function is enabled."

Any clues or solutions on how to solve my problem?

The error code is from Power DVD, but I also can't play it in Windows Media Player.|||Presume your graphics card is Geforce4

This forum should help you, looks like you need to rollback or download the drivers to older version.

If its not a Gforce try looking at your graphics card manufacturers site...could be same/similar problem as above.

How do I determine my video graphics card ability on my pC?

How do I determine my video graphics card ability on my pC?

I am about to buy a flat screen tv 32" which is 12" bigger than my current monitor, and it has both tv and a pc hook up, my cocern is if it will not fill the scree with the PC. I have a T5082 Emachine|||the size of your screen is not the problem

the screen resolution is

a 19" monitor ws is 1440 x 900

a 24"monitor ws is 1920 x 1200

a 32" lcd tv is 1366 x 768 at best it will be 1280 x 1200

what is your display at present?

adjust yours to its maximum

What is the best Video Card i can use to be able to watch Tv on my PC?

I have comcast cable and i just need to know the best card i can use that has a cable jack.|||Consider something like this:

OR these:

http://www.nextag.com/2.0-tuner-tv-usb/s…|||You need a Tv Tuner card..

Kworld TV Capture + FM PCI Card W/ Remote|||A video card does not let you capture TV on your computer-a tuner card does-Hauppauge and ATI both have such tuner cards. You can also recod to your hard drive for later playback. If you have XP or Vista media center, you want to get a card that is compatible with media center, incliuding the remote control.

Can a Radeon 7000 Series (RV100) video card be used to connect an analog tv as monitor?

I've got a an analog tv (coaxial and 3 RCA ports) i want to connect my pc which has a Radeon 7000 Series (RV100) video card

can i use a VGA to component RCA adapter cable to put my desktop on my big screen?

PC Video card to TV issues..?

Okay, first tried a ATIX800 card into an Insignia 27" a while ago, got it working fine, but then I moved the TV closer to the computer, and when I reconnected everything, both the video card and the TV fried. This was through a 3 wire component cable. I replaced the TV with a HDTV (Insignia™ 27" Flat-Tube HDTV -Silver/Black Model: NS-27HTV) and the card with a [SAPPHIRE 100131L Radeon X800GTO 256MB GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X]. When I hooked the card into the TV this time, through the normal yellow component cable, (1 wire, came with card) it fried the TV out on the vid card. My question is, I'm replacing the video card again, and want to use the TV above as an alternate display. It supports HDMI and such, but I want to avoid frying it. All units were off when connected, aside from this very last time, TV was on, comp off. Any ideas on why this is happening?|||well thats very odd to happen.... you can replace your card with any card it wont matter although you can purchase a standard DVI or VGA cable and connect your video card to your tv from that connection this will work an it is most likely garanteed not to fry your tv|||So you fried two TV cards and one TV so far?

Please, please PLEASE read the ******* manual before you hook anything up. It often has pictures and everything.|||It sounds like somehow you have the wiring incorrect.

Double check the manual for the TV AND the card!

This should tell you exactly how to connect which device in what manner.

Do I have to have a special video card for my pc to hook it up the an LCD tv?

My PC and LCD tv both have an RGB hookup. The PC video card is an integrated one (Intel® GMA 950). I'm not sure if the video card has to have a special tv-output to work. I'm planning on using a vga cord (SXGA)...I just want to be certain it will work before I buy the vga cord. Thanks...|||If they both have the same connectors then there is absolutely no problem in hooking them up.

Planning to connect my PC with an Nvidia Geforce 9800GT video card to a TV, need some help?

As stated, the video card is an Nvidia Geforce 9800GT, here is the page with info and specs

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130435

its handled great in my PC

Me and a friend will be moving into an apartment within the next 3 months, and we are not very keen on adding a satellite or cable bill to our rent, internet, and utilities. So we figured this would be a beautiful substitute.

(note:along with the card came a cable that connects to the Svideo and turns into what looks like RCA jacks, but they are not red, white, and yellow, they are red, blue, and green, and it looks like you plug jacks into them rather than vice versa)

So the main points I would like some insight on are these:

1.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889253200

I assume that this TV can have a PC connected to it, however, I don't necessarily know the best way to go about it, and also, what would be the best way to pull this one off.

If this TV doesn't work for what I'm trying to do, please, do point me in the direction of one that could, it would be very helpful.

2.If the above TV is sufficient for my needs, what adapters/cables/etc. would I need to complete the task

Any help would be greatly appreciated of course|||Nah mate, you don't want to do that... the reason why is that graphics card has DVI or S-VIDEO that would look horrible when blown up to 32". The resolution on DVI ans epically S-Video are Horrible..

I have a GForce 8600GT hooked up to my 52" plasma with VGA and it is really clear but you would want to go with ONLY VGA or HDMI from computer to TV. I tried DVI and S-Video and it looked really bad... don't spend the money

Here are some cards on Newegg that would work with a TV that has a VGA input... the best would be HDMI but the graphics cards would be a lot and it seems like you don't want to spend too much...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

There are VGA to Component adapters but they are around 50 - 80 bucks so it would be the same if you bought a better graphics card... e-mail me if you have more questions..|||If you have just a plain s-video cable (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as… then you just plug that cable into the back of the tv(the one you're looking at has an s-video port on the back). You will also need an aux. cable (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as… because s-video don't transfer sound. The aux. cable just plugs into the sound port on the back of the comp. and then into the back of the TV.

Would an external video card allow me to view video from my external hard drive onto a tv or pc monitor?

I am looking into getting a small tv or pc monitor for my bedroom. I would like to find one with USB ports but since I have had no luck, I am looking at external video cards. Like this one, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PSV…

Would an external video card allow me to view my videos from my external hard drive onto a tv or pc monitor? Or are they strictly for dual monitors?

90% of my movies are digital, and we watch them through the USB ports on our 360 on our main tv.

Any other ideas on how I could get this work would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.|||Your link is dead.

BUT.... here are some external video cards. They will do what you want to do also.

Good luck.|||at first i said maybe...then NO impossible....after reading carefully if this is what you are trying to do then Its impossible:

if i understand you correctly, you have a hard drive that uses USB, you want to buy an external video card, connect it to the tv, and then plug your hard drive onto the external external video card?

You cant, you need some sort of computer to control that, before the xbox was making the "computer stuff"...you need a media player of some sort like these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Western-Digital-WD-T…

you need something that will access the hardrive and relay it back to the monitor and also be able to control it....your link is dead so i dont know what the link was of....email me if you need any help good luck

Pc to tv can I use seperate vga output from graphics card?

My pc has a GeForce 6200le it appears to have a s-video output, but my pc also has another vga separate to the Geforce card, can I use the other vga to connect to vga on tv for dual monitor?|||According to the specs your card has VGA SVIDEO and DVI output.

So it depends on the inputs on your tv as to which one is best to use

Which ever one you use you will have to separately cater for the sound|||you should be able to. Connect it to the TV then go to video properties to define what desktop you want on the second monitor

Can i make my TV as a second(huge) monitor by connecting it to my PC using a TV tuner card?

Both my TV and the TV tuner card have a 4 pin S-VIDEO port.I will use an s-video cable and RC cable for audio.I understand that it is possible to capture TV shows on PC with the s-video of tv tuner card.So what I am asking is, whether it is possible to watch PC on TV with the same?|||No, a TV tuner card only has inputs, no outputs. You need a graphics card in your computer which allows you to connect your television to. S-Video, HDMI, VGA, DVI, any of these can do. There are many graphics cards which have multiple outs, so if your current graphics card only has one output, you will need to purchase a new one.|||always TV tuner card is an input device to pc.. u cant take any video or audio signal out from PC via tuner card.. u can use video out port and stereo port for taking out video and audio.. maybe ur video out port can be HDMI or rs232 (DVO)port.. use that..|||Yes.

When running an svideo cable from your PC to your TV does the size of your video card make a diff in quality?

If i were to buy a 16 MB video card only to use for the s video output would the picture quality be bad and would i still be able to use my 256 MB video card i already have also|||Not really, unless you have an awful video card, and 16mb should be plenty.

The quality of the video on your TV is determined by two things. 1. The resolution of your video card, as long as you can get a decent resolution on your video card, it should be fine. Anything above 1200x768 should be fine. 1600x1200 would be great.

2. The S-Video quality which is set and you cannot change. S-Video is a little better then the component(RWY) and not as good as composite(BGR).|||ask someone that u bought it from|||The picture quality would only be as bad as the screen resolution that you get from that card, as well as the maximum resolution of your TV. If you don't have an HDTV, it's going to be pretty ugly, as standard TV resolution is low (720x480 for NTSC)

What video card for best resolution , pc to tv? Specs. ect...?

Tv is a Samsung HDTV 1080i. Has S- video & composite .

Resolution is 1,920 x 1,080 i believe. About 21" x 16 " screen.

Pc is Dell Dimension 3000 , Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz 2.79 GHz, 512 MB RAM. Hopeing to use as monitor & watch movies. Looking for best resolution.

What specs for video card . MB's of memory ect... .|||I'm guessing that's an agp port?

Get the new ati hd3850 agp. It's the fastest agp card on the market. Will cost around 250

Or go with the hd 2600 pro for 100 if money is a problem.

2600xt for 160 would be in the middle.

256mb is all you need for memory. 512 doesn't help the speed much in some cases they will even use slower ram on the 512 boards making it over all slower.

So watch if it's ddr2 or ddr3

Better to get a 256mb of ddr3 then 512 ddr2

Both cards support vista but only the 3850 will play future games. You will have to upgrade all your system.

Watch out and make sure you power supply has the power for new cards. Dell has some good power supplies but you can only push them so hard.

Plugin my ps2 to PC with video tv card ? with nvidia GeForce 6200?

how can I plug in my ps2 to the pc with a TV card on my pc.

One of the cards have a VGA socket and an s-video (or something) socket... there is a card below that with 2 aerial sockets (for tv on the media center) and another sort of s-video looking socket with 2/3/3 pins (8pins)

I plugged an adapter into the 8 pinned socket. The adapter has 4 seperate wires coming from it, these are red/yellow/white plus s-video (like the av sockets on your tv!)

I plugged the ps2 into the 3 red/yellow/white sockets on the adapter (which leads into my input on my computer, where the aerial sockets are for tv)

I can't see or hear anything when i plug them in

DETAILS!!

Packard Bell computer with 2 video cards which are

--------------------------------------…

\VGA/ (S-VIDEO)

--------------------------------------

(Aerial type 1) (TV Aerial type 2) (s-vid type socket 8pins*)

--------------------------------------…

*This is the socket I plug the adapter in (and the ps2)

Plz help|||Hiya Grant,

It sounds like the old TV card in the Packard Bell does not have the correct software or drivers. It may be an ATI (you did not mention), so if you could identify the card you might be able to download the drivers at the ATI support page. For it to work on the card you tried, you would have had to use the capture / TV card input. Then maybe set the software for the card to display the input on the screen.

I have an easier idea.

Get one of these for $13 and it will hook up using a simple USB port, nothing easier.

http://www.hartsunlimited.com/supdualbox…

Now Grant, you should have told me the type of processor, the exact name and model for the other video adapter and what version Windows you are using. If you did, for sure I would have given you exact instructions to hook up the whole deal so it worked the first time. This is what you want and it will work real easy.

GOOD LUCK!!

Is it worth upgrading my graphics card from 256MB to 512MB. I watch mainly TV and video through my pc?

Is it worth upgrading my graphics card from 256MB to 512MB. I watch mainly TV and video through my pc and browse the internet. I don't play many games. I think you have to pay double the price.|||it really isnt worth it, usually computers use 256 mb of memory for graphics. Using more is just a waste of money. Also, if you want more memory on your graphics card just assign some of the computer memory to the graphics portion. But i have a 256 MB card and it works great for both games and TV or movies. Dont spend your money on greater ones. You wont see the difference.|||yes it is. with a bigger videocard, your computer will work smoother|||No your graphics card is OK you will only need to upgrade if you want to play some of the newer games.|||*no not if that is all you are doing if you were playing games i would say yes|||If the old one works fine, then no.|||If you are watching TV, and just browsing.. No.. Now.. if you plan to upgrade to Vista in the Future.. this might not be the case.. As Vista will require a more robust card to get the additional 3D Capabilities of the Operating System. Frankly, after having been using Vista for the past year, and playing around with the 3D Features, they are mainly Eye Candy, and don't really offer much in productivity improvements. But, that could change as Programmers learn to use the new tools in Vista and make improvements to the software that is out there.

So right now No.. But if you are looking to get into Vista.. Then later down the road, it would be a wise move.|||Is not worth it, even a graphics card with 64 MB (even 32 MB)of memory wold suffice for TV and video. A good TV tunner does the job for better TV quality and a good software player for other video.

As an example I watch TV and video on P III computer at 800 MHZ with 256 MB RAM memory and a GeForce 2 video card with 32 MB of memory. Works just fine.

If you want to record TV shows you must have a good processor (2 GHZ or higher) and at least 256 RAM memory.|||No, there is no need to. Your 6200 is ok for you.|||You don't need a top-end video card unless you're playing high power games. I do, even, and mine is only 256 and is fine. But the GPU (graphics processor) speed is more important than the amount of memory on it. But unless you're having video lag in something you're doing, not really needed.

Would I be able to connect my PC (Radeon HD 3200 video card) to a TV using a VGA to composite dongle?

I would, ideally, like to be able to hook up my computer to my older TV with one of those VGA to composite cables you can find on eBay for ~$3. However, I gather that the video card would need to support TV-out through VGA, which I'm not sure of. Anyway, does anyone know if it would work?|||it will either be a s cable or a dvi cable that is needed.|||I found this site that had a bunch of info on video cards like side by side comparable stats and which ones were the best for the money and brand. I think itll help you out.

The sides are cutting off when playing video by S-video from pc video card to tv?

Hello

I just hooked up my a s-video connection from my pc to tv. I noticed that when I play video the sides are cutting of on my televisions display.

That can I do to fix this?|||That's pretty normal. It means the aspect ratio of the TV is different from the aspect ratio of the video, and you have your player set to crop the video in such a case. Some players don't have an option to "stretch" or "fit" the video to fit the TV, so you may not be able to fix it.

Get a hold of your video card's documentation and try to find what the aspect ratio of the S-video out is. And compare it to the AR of the video. Then look for a setting in the video card or the player to fix it.|||Your video card is incapable of displaying it full screen!

How can I see movies on my tv from my PC, radeon video card?

I have a radeon 3850 video card, and a flat screen TV, what do I need, and where do I set it to see the movies from my PC?|||head to this site http://tra.kz/7xt you should be able to find your video there|||To connect your HD3850 to your flat-screen TV, you need a DVI-to-HDMI cable. Connect the DVI end into your HD3850, and the HDMI end into your TV.

Some HD3850s also have an HDMI port, in which case use a standard HDMI cable.

When connected this way, you turn your flat-screen TV into a monitor.

Hope this helps.

Which is the cheapest video card available in india just to connect pc to tv using s video out?

How do I know if my pc got a video card?

Could anyone tell me how should I know if my pc got video card or not?

Becuse I want to conect my pc to my tv.|||If you have a video card then the monitor lead that plugs into it will have the 'thumb screws' side by side (like *===*) if it's onboard graphics the thumb screws will be one above the other.

That said, if you are plugging into a TV then unless your TV has a VGA port your graphics will need a video out port.|||start-RUn- type (dxdiag) then click display in tabs|||You need a special type of video card to connect it to a TV and all pcs have some sort of video card.|||Without a video card you wouldn't see anything on your monitor. In fact, you wouldn't be able to connect a monitor. If you can see absolutely anything, your computer has a video card.

If you wish to connect your PC to your TV, however, you need a video card that has some form of TV output. Some modern TVs have an analogue port that looks like the 15 pin port on the back of your computer. This would need a cable with the relevant connections on both ends. Do be aware though that this only carries the pictures. You will not get sound through your TV speaker(s) using this method. You'd have to connect your soundcard, using an audio cable to a respective input port on your TV.

Other TVs might have a S-VHS port. You can purchase video cards that have the same type of port on them. Again you would need to purchase a cable with the respective plugs at both ends. You'll also need to connect an audio cable between your soundcard and your TVs audio input port.

If you're willing to spend even more money, you can get video cards that have HDMI or DVI sockets on them. This, of course, means that you'd need a really up-to-date TV that has similar sockets on it.

There are also 'adapters', which you can purchase separately, to change one type of socket to another.

my video card also has an s-video adapter..can i connect it to that? would i need any software to install on my computer? please help thank you!!

ten points!|||The difference between your TV tuner and your graphics card (at least what matters here) is that the TV tuner takes an input from your cable line or an antenna and draws to the frame buffer, it is an input. The graphics card takes that frame buffer and creates the signals needed to drive your monitor's screen, it is an output device.

graphics cards usually provide the s-video connection so you can do things like hook up your desktop to your living room television instead of a monitor. It is inherintly a different type of device than the tv tuner.

Some graphics cards do have video inputs for video mixing, but it is not likely that a regular PC owner would own them|||i really don't know because i am horrible at this type of stuff.

Can I connect my video card to my receiver and than to my TV?

I am in the process of building a PC. The reciever bit has me confused. Can I connect a 5870 to the reciever via HDMI and than to my TV so I can have 5.1 surround sound with video? or do I need a seperate sound card to the receiver and connect the video card directly to the TV?|||Most televisions these days act just like big computer monitors, so if your TV has an HDMI input then you can use it just like a monitor.

Your TV's speakers should also act just like normal speakers. Most motherboards these days have onboard sound cards, so you shouldn't need to worry about buying another one of those. Just to be sure check your motherboard's specs to see if its sound card will support the sound output that you're trying to create. If not, a separate sound card that does will be the way to go.

1). faulty cables

2). faulty connections in the videocard

and lastly

3) If your tv is one of those with normal definition (the old ones) it couldn't handle high resolutions and would project it in its own size making the screen really fuzzy and with text unreadable...

Their image quality generally is about the same as a monitor except the screen is bigger for the same number of pixels, so everything looks bigger (designed for viewing from a further distance).

You can absolutely use an LCD HDTV as a monitor. I do, and it looks fabulous. My computer is hooked up to a 52" LCD HDTV using a DVI-to-HDMI cable (yes, DVI is compatible with HDMI): http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f347/a…

It works perfectly, displaying 1920x1080 (my TV's resolution).

Get an LCD HDTV. Don't use a plasma, because if you leave a still image on a plasma TV for a length of time, the image will get burnt into the plasma screen. LCDs do not suffer burn-in problems.

And make sure the LCD HDTV you are getting has as many HDMI ports as possible, and that your graphics card has either a DVI or HDMI port.

Hope this helps.|||Just make sure your video card has either a DVI or HDMI port, and that it is HDCP-compliant.

I have all the cables needed to connect my pc to my tv but someone told me that I need set my video card?

If anyone can give me a step by step answer on how to do it I'd really appreciate it.

Start with how to find the video card please.

Thanks|||normal video cards have an aerial cable on them so check the back of your PC for a aerial port

you then need a bit of software to play it, you can use windows media player which will detect it auto etc :)|||I'm not an expert at this, but I don't think it's involved with video card setup.

What you need is a TV Tuner so you can view television by connecting the cable wires to your PC. You can buy it at Newegg, circuit city, or best buy, or whichever tech retailer.

With TV tuner, you should be able to watch TV on your PC with no problem.

How do you put PC to TV without new video card?

I want to have an extended screen onto my tv so that I could still stay on the computer while I'm watching something (a movie/video on the tv so that the screen extends to the left) I also don't want to have to buy a new video card since this computer is fairly new. It's a dell XPS 420.

Can a PC to TV tuner do that or does it just duplicate/cone the screen on my monitor?|||No, a PC TV tuner/capture card is for receiving TV signals for display on your computer. It is not for connecting your computer to a television set.

If you want to connect to an old analog low-definition boob-tube TV, you need a video card with S-video or Composite output. By nature the low-definition analog signal is going to look like crap.

If you want to connect to an HDTV, it is usually done through either DVI/HDMI (which are digital) or VGA (which is analog). And to run in extended desktop mode, your graphics card needs to have two video outputs.|||I don't know the capabilities of your current video setup, but a TV will usually just display the same thing as your monitor and you can use one or the other, but not both. You need a dual monitor setup to do what you want which require 2 output ports from the video card, or, 2 video cards.|||You can extend your desktop and have separate windows open on your PC and TV. What hardware/software would I need to watch a movie or video playing on my PC to also play on a TV in the next room? I have a pretty good graphics card with DVI out (but it doesn't have s-video.) And the TV in the next room is connected to a DirectTV box. There's something more to just running a wire from the card port to the TV, isn't there?|||No, there really is nothing more than running the cable to connect the two. If the inputs and outputs are incompatible you'll also need an adapter or maybe even a converter.

If you want you could even do it wirelessly - http://www.google.com/search?q=wireless+…

It's hard to find exact measurements but I've run 60ft of VGA cable up through walls and across ceilings with no loss in quality. The best quality cable you can get the better when you're doing runs like that though. I've also run RCA and HDMI through the same conduit and that quality is good too.

You may have problems with DVI - that's got a max cable length of only 25 feet. You can get signal boosters though - http://askville.amazon.com/run-DVI-cable…|||If both have HDMI ports you can use that, otherwise you need a special cable which can be purchased at any electronics store, just let the employee know which ports each unit is compatible with.

Would a NVIDIA® GeForce® 6150SE integrated card work well for streaming video to a LCD TV?

I have an emachines PC that has this video card integrated on the pc. I want to start streaming to my LCD TV using some sort of VGA signal splitter to the HDMI port on my TV. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...|||You should check out satellite direct on mac.|||Well more things come into play when doing this like lcd size and screen resloution. how much memore does the built in card have and what not but wince its a 6150 I'd say it would work fine as long as you like how the video plays on the tv.

Btw I love nvidia cards if its bang for the buck i suggest going to tigerdirect.com and getting a nvidia 9800 card they work great.|||I would say that you will not get a good result if you use the integrated graphics from the eMachine to your LCD TV. I would recommend a video card the either has a HDMI port or DVI port (you can get a DVI to HDMI cable) and connect it to the LCD TV.

Please recommend me a PCI video capture tv tuner card for an old Pentium III PC, 384 RAM with Windows XP Pro?

The processor is a Pentium III at 450 Mhz is an HP Brio PC, 384 RAM, 32 GB hard drive, I think has PCI 1.0 and NVIDIA 128 video card and Service pack 2 Windows XP Professional

I want the card to record a tv show so I could watch it later if possible, thanks for the advice include brand and model please!|||I'm like 99.9% positive that the Encore ENLTV-FM TV Tuner is compatible with your computer. I own one, and the program and features are amazing. It can be a TV, radio, and record both. Plus it's only $20 at www.newegg.com.

I am purchasing a 32" flat panel LCD TV and patch my pc into it. What type of video card is needed ?

Is there any LCD TV better than another for running with a pc and is it possible to run an HDMI from PC to LCD?|||Yes

http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/972/three_hdmi_graphics_cards_tested_on_lcd_tv/|||Don't use a TV as a computer monitor unless the computer will be solely used as a media center. A TV does NOT make an acceptable computer monitor.

HDMI is basically just DVI with audio. There are adapters, but the TV will likely have DVI in anyway so you could just use that.|||I know Geforce 8000 series have hi-def capabilities not sure about conection maybe dvi and sound in out of the question|||I have done something similar. As far as I know there is not HDMI graphics cards and if there is they are mostly likely expensive.

What I have done is get a graphics card that has both DVI and VGA outputs so I can use it for multiple reasons and also dual screen. I purchased a DVI to HDMI cable to connect from computer to TV. The price for the cable varies. Cheap ones will work fine. Length of cable is something you should consider. I found a good 12 foot cable (I'm plugging it into a big screen). There are a lot of 4-6 foot ones out there too. Good Luck

S Video PCI Card for PC output on TV?

My PC doesn't have S Video output but my TV does have S Video input socket. Could somebody suggest some affordable PCI card that I could add to my PC!!!?|||Try going to

http://www.newegg.com

They have a really good hardware selection tool where you can specify your criteria for a video card, or any other hardware for that matter. ATI and nVidia pretty much own the video card market, and all the manufacturers use their chips. I've had good luck with EVGA.

I just looked at newegg and they have two cards that fit the bill.

Can i use s-video(my video card) to s-video(my tv) cable in connecting my pc to my tv? is the output good?

help on s-video pc to tv|||If all your TV has is S-video, then that's your only possible choice.

If your TV is an HDTV of recent vintage, then S-video is not the best way-- It is a holdover from the days of low-definition boob-tube TVs, which is why S-video is an analog signal NOT capable of high-definition.

The best way to connect a computer to a TV is via DVI/HDMI. Those are digital video signals and are capable of high-definition, and nearly all HDTVs today are equipped with HDMI.|||yes you can and the picture will be good, but make sure you change the video source on the tv to s-video.need more help email me?|||yes you can.

depends on the type of tv on what kind of quality you get.

You will get better quality with the newer HD tv's or digital tv's.

And make sure your video card will accept the correct resolution for the tv.

TV Flicker when I connect my PC to the TV via S-VIDEO (Bad Graphics Card?)?

I have recently bought an s-video lead to connect my PC to my TV. I configured my NVIDIA graphics card (GeForce 6200) to set up multiple displays, and everything worked fine.

But I have lines of flicker that constantly travel upwards through my TV Screen. I have tested my laptop which is slightly newer, and the flicker is reduced.

Does this mean I should replace my graphics card?

Or is it just a bad connection?

Thanks!|||HI, This happens becouse your TV set is only running at 625 line where as your PC can run much faster and there fore you tv cannot cope so try's to compensate. usually a PC is not connected in thei way. It is far better to connect it via a USB SCART interface for a much better pic or obtain a propper monitor save you all the hassle.

Hope this helps

video cards works great, but it burned out my new powersupply i was running 600watt now running 680 watt and been working great. good thing i had warrenty on my powersupply, also if you don't have the 6 prong power connecter from power supply it comes with a adapter, you need to use both 4 prong power connecters on it or you fan on the card will not run at full speed, so far running all my games great, gta4 was killing my g-f 8500gt, got that maxed in all settings and still not using all the memery.|||Probably any card with an HDMI/DVI/VGA port. Look at the back of you TV and see what port it has, get a card with that port. Get a card with good cooling. If you don't want to play games, then get a low end card.

Can I use a Video card to S video and tv adapter cable to connect to my tv without the s video plug on my pc?

How do I watch video from my PC on my TV?

I have a PC with Windows Vista 32-bit and a GeForce 7600GS video card. I connected the card directly to the TV with an S-video cable. The best way to connect your computer to a tv without a video card?

i have a pc running windows xp and want to know what is the best and cheapest way to connect my computer to the tv without a video card without rca jacks and without a cable output/input (aka the stock dell desktop video card)|||Well, you HAVE to have a video card to display anything...If you get that then I say do S-Video...Very simple....

Thanx,

What video card should I get for using my monitor as a TV?

Computer specs: Dell Dimension 4700, 1GB RAM, 3.0GHz CPU, 160GB HD, WinXP Pro, DVD-ROM drive, PCI-Express.

Neither me nor my future wife EVER watch television, just movies, so we don't want to get a TV when we get married in a couple of months. We just want to get a good setup for watching DVDs on the computer.

Right now, I just have the Intel integrated video card which is VGA-only, and the quality on the DVDs isn't so great. Dark colors are washed-out, sometimes the video skips to catch up, etc. I have a 17" Dell Ultrasharp 1704 LCD digital-ready monitor (though I think we'll be getting a 20" widescreen because everything we watch is widescreen).

I want a video card that works well for watching DVDs and DivX files. I don't play any PC games so it doesn't need to be a super high-end card. I just want the cheapest card I can find that does what I need... Could I do something as inexpensive as a Radeon X300, or do I need something like a GeForce 6600, or something even better?|||I like ATI products.

ATI.com

Coach|||There is a site call tigerdirect.com, it has very inexpensive video cards. What is the resoultion set at on your computer? that may have somting to do with the problem. Get a video ccard with DVI (only if you monitor has it).|||if you have money to burn

if not, get a Geforce 7600 GS

I need help connecting my pc to my flat screen tv. What is a video card & do I need it?

I want to use my flat screen LCD tv as a monitor to my computer. I want to know if I juts have to buy this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie…

I don't need audio becuase I'll be using my computer speakers. I read on this listing that I need a video card to be able to use this cable. I have a compaq FS7600 desktop that I bought in 2004 and I want to connect it to a Phillips 46 inch LCD tv I bought this year. Can I just use these cables (shown in the link) or do I have to buy a video card and if so what is a video card?

Thanks so much in advance.|||1) What is a video card

A video card is a device that is plugged into your computer (hardware) that allows the connection of other display devices such as monitors and also helps the computer to display the information correctly (size, resolution, and color).

2) Do i need it

i looked up your computer online but couldnt find information on what conenctions ports it has (what cables you can connect). Usually a computer from 2004 has a S-video spot already build in (check out picure bellow)

http://www.datapro.net/products/s-video-…

the second question is what connection ports your television has. Since it is new it might have a regular pc screen port already build in (in which case you can just take your old monitor cable) or it uses the HDMI connection port.

Find out the connection possibilties and comment again please.

And yes the cable you have given a link to in your question IS A POSSIBLE solution.. if your pc and tv have the connection ports|||You don't need that VGA SVGA to S-Video 3 RCA TVV AV Covnerter cable shown in the link. You don't need a graphics card thou. All you need to do is get a VGA cable, and plug it into your computer to your TV. If you don't know what a VGA cable looks like, google image it.

What is a graphics/video card? A video card handles all your graphics related processing, like the output you get on your monitor, games, graphics, images and movies etc. Basically, a computer can still run without a video card. It just will eventually run slower because it doesn't have the help from the video card's many processors. Although your computer's motherboard would still have ports to allow you to connect a monitor if you don't have a video card. Your motherboard's monitor port should be a VGA slot and your graphics card can be either VGA or DVI. Why VGA? Because VGA on graphics cards are for older computers like yours. Newer graphics cards use DVI and no VGA ports.|||Well, if those connectors match the connectors on your TV and computer, then that should be all you need.

But if your computer has a VGA connector, and your TV probably has one too. Then a simple VGA to VGA video cable should do.|||That VGA-to-S-video adapter will NOT work.

Those VGA-to-S-video adapters are intended for video cards that have a specially-built VGA port that can also send out an S-video signal. It will NOT work with just any VGA port.

The VGA port on your Compaq computer is NOT one of those specially-built ones, otherwise that adapter would have been included. If you try to use that adapter, you will get NO image. Don't waste your money on that useless piece of crap.

Besides, why the heck do you want to use a crappy LOW-DEFINITION S-video signal with your HIGH-DEFINITION TV? If your HDTV has a 15-pin VGA port, just use a standard VGA monitor cable, which is high-definition.

An even better way to connect to an HDTV would be through the HDTV's HDMI ports, but your computer must have a digital video output (DVI or HDMI) to be able to do that.

How can I use my PC to play video in a 30' CRT TV?

I have an ATI Radeon X300 graphic card.

Or if i buy a USB Digital Tuner with a port to connect to TV, can I use that to connect to TV but watch other video files stored in the PC? Or the digital tuner can just play signals received from the antenna??

Or else What should I do?|||yes, if your video card have a "video out".

Can I use a 2nd video card to add a S-Video out port to my PC?

I have an older Acer PC that I want to use as a "cable box" on an older TV. My computer doesn't have a S-Video out port and I need to use S-Video for my set-up.

Can I add a second video card to my PC just to have a S-Video out port or is there and easier way?|||Yes, you should have some free PCI slots. Do a search on the net for PCI Video card with S-Video

I need a video card in my pc so i can play HD videos and connect my 42" Tv to my pc using HD MI?

i do not want to play games ...i want this card to play HD videos my TV is only goes up to 720P HD ...and i want audio from the HDMI .so i do not need more cables every thing is done with a one cable|||Since you do not play games, you can go for a cheap low end graphic card such as ATi Hd 4350 which has a HDMI port (with 7.1 audio output). This card would be more than enough for HD video playback.

Cost of ATi HD 4350 = USD 49 or less

If you want to spend more on a graphics card (in case you want to do some video editing), you can go for a ATi HD 4670 which cost around $79.

If you prefer nvidia, you can also go for a Geforce 9400gt.

Can anyone help with issue connecting pc to tv through s-video, may be problem with graphics card?

For years we have ben able to watch stuff on the tv from the pc by connecting it to the pc with a s-video cable. Had some gaming problems and needed to install new drivers for the graphics card (Nvidia geforce 6600 LE). Since then we can't get the s-video connection to work. (Connecting to a Pioneer plasma tv PDP-4270XD)

The start up screen comes up on tv fine but once Windows is loaded up it changes to black and white flickering.

Have spent many hours trying to sort this out and would be sooooo grateful if anyone can help as searching through forums on the 'net is drawing a blank!

Thanks x|||make sure your s vid cable just isn't coming out. : )

umm other than that make sure your TVs on the right channel.

Is the video card inside my Inspiron 1525 laptop fast enough for a PC to TV cable?

I want to connect my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop to a TV with an HDMI cable. Will my video card be fast enough to handle this is? What if it isn't?|||If your laptop has an HDMI port on it then your video card can handle it. If it couldn't handle it you wouldn't have an HDMI port.

How I hook up pc to tv with my ati radeon card?

I have ati radeon express 200 series card and have s-video out and digital audio out. TV dont have s-video port and have RCA input.

I have dvd/vcr combo and have dvd s video out, dvd rgb output, rca input/output

i have sateille directv and have s video out and rca input/ output..

what cable or rf modulator to hook up vcr/ dvd or tv to pc???

thanks|||I'm confused, the first question seems to ask how to video from pc to tv, but the last seems to ask about tv/vcr/dvd to pc.

Well, for pc s-video out to tv RCA in there are converters available ( http://shopping.yahoo.com/search?cop=mss… ).

But for tv/vcr/dvd to pc, that card does not have any video in connections, you will need to get a tv tuner card or adapter to do that.

Please help with video card problem,pc to tv probs, cant get videos to play on tv just windows animated?

i have my tv hooked to my pc via s cable, i see everything as same as monitor but my videos will not play. have tried several media players but none worked. whats weird is my space video works fine.|||Check your connections.

http://www.sharpened.net/helpcenter/answ…

If the videos will play on your computer with your usual monitor, but not with the TV as monitor it is probably a codec or format problem.

What kind of error message do you get?

After installing Mac OSX on my pc, will my tv tuner, video card and sound cards still work?

I am going to install MAC OSX on my pc ( please don't ask how or tell me its against the law ) But if i do so will my tv tuner, video card and sound card still work?|||Well if your technically minded to run OSX86, then surely your technically minded enough to be able to look up if your hardware is Mac compatibel, whihc in msot cases if its not present on a pre built mac then you may start to have difficulty.

networking and wi-fi tend to be the sticking points, but I'll take a guestimate that the TV card wont as the tend to be wierd in driver region(mine has probs running on windows half the time) and i wouldnt want to guess if my grpahics dont work, but youve not given us any specs whihc can make it hard.

And on hte legal sifde Pystar are doing anti-trust agianst them, whihc if they win could make it legal to to a Hackintosh.(so id hold on a few months to see if its fully lega, which could lead ot better hackintosh support)|||Nothing will work including your PC.
